Vice President of Quality Assurance

About the role

The Vice President of Quality Assurance will lead the quality function for De Beers Group’s Midstream operations, ensuring that all rough diamond products meet the highest standards before they reach the market. Reporting to senior leadership, you will drive continuous improvement, oversee technical valuation processes and support the global sales and trading teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional management to foster a high‑performance culture and achieve De Beers quality standards.
• Develop, implement and monitor quality standards and measures across the Midstream.
• Collaborate with Partner Diamond Trading Company’s Operations Managers and Global Sightholder Sales to address partner needs.
• Work with Product Managers to evaluate costs of non‑standard products and determine optimal delivery methods.
• Apply market pricing to large stones and fancy colour productions worldwide.
• Oversee technical valuation activities (RtoP) for all Special Stones departments.
• Produce the +2 ct component of the De Beers Group polished price book and review pricing of special stone sight‑box content.
• Support global sales teams and sightholders on technical and pricing queries.
• Select exceptional stones for allocation and identify items that maximise upside for the Group.
• Investigate and implement new technologies that enhance value realisation.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in quality assurance within mining, gemstones or related high‑value commodity sectors.
• Proven leadership ability to manage cross‑functional teams and drive continuous improvement.
• Strong analytical mindset with a deep understanding of diamond valuation and pricing.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, both internal and external.

Required skills

• Knowledge of diamond valuation processes and market pricing.
• Familiarity with Tracr or similar blockchain tracking systems.
