Assistant Business Analyst – Finance & Operations

About the role

The Assistant Business Analyst will act as the bridge between finance and operations, analysing financial data to assess performance, spot trends and suggest improvements. You will support accurate periodic financial reporting for MMG operations and ensure compliance with internal procedures and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, consolidate and coordinate operational budgets and forecasts aligned with the Life of Mine (LOM) plan.
• Produce monthly operational cost reports and perform variance analysis.
• Monitor operational costs against budgets, contributing to profitability and cash‑flow management.
• Analyse financial data, identify trends and recommend actionable improvements.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of cost reporting each period.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations and support audit activities with required documentation.
• Provide general support to the Finance team as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Part‑qualified ACCA, CIMA, BICA or equivalent is an advantage; registration with BICA is mandatory.
• 2‑4 years of experience in a comparable accounting role.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• Experience with accounting software such as Pastel, Sage, QuickBooks or SAP.
