National Sales & Workplace Banking Manager

About the role

Lead the end‑to‑end sales engine and workplace banking proposition for a major African bank. You will be responsible for driving profitable customer acquisition, revenue, deposits and lending across payroll‑linked segments while ensuring high standards of conduct, risk management and customer outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the national sales strategy for Retail and Workplace Banking across all channels (branches, field, telesales, digital).
  • Build and scale workplace banking partnerships with employers to acquire payroll customers and cross‑sell credit, insurance, investments and payments.
  • Own sales forecasting, pipeline coverage and delivery against quarterly and annual targets.
  • Drive branch and field sales productivity through call cycles, opportunity management and conversion optimisation.
  • Oversee corporate acquisition and onboarding processes, including MOUs, data exchange and payroll mandates.
  • Implement sales governance, pipeline discipline and regular performance reviews.
  • Co‑own the workplace value proposition, pricing, offers and campaign launches.
  • Implement CRM standards, use analytics to prioritise high‑propensity corporates and run sales enablement playbooks.
  • Ensure compliance with KYC/AML, data privacy and regulatory directives, and manage complaints remediation.
  • Collaborate with Corporate/Business Banking, Marketing, Product, Operations, IT/Digital, Credit Risk and HR for end‑to‑end delivery.

Required profile

  • Proven experience leading national sales functions in banking or financial services.
  • Strong track record in workplace banking, corporate partnerships and multi‑channel distribution.
  • Ability to manage risk, compliance and conduct standards while delivering growth targets.
  • Excellent stakeholder leadership and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
