Booth Teller - Botswana

About the role

Mukuru, a leading African fintech business, is looking for a customer-focused, detail-oriented Booth Teller to join its Botswana team. Booth Tellers welcome customers, help them with remittance transactions and create positive experiences that build trust in the communities served.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome customers and assist them with remittance transactions, and help them complete forms and understand Mukuru's products and services.
• Perform KYC checks and verify customer documentation; process inbound and outbound transactions accurately.
• Handle cash responsibly, monitor transaction limits according to central bank regulations, and identify and escalate suspicious transactions.
• Support customers with Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) requirements and maintain high standards of compliance, security and risk awareness.
• Carry out daily cash balancing and cash-ups, keep accurate records, keep the booth clean and secure, and work with internal teams.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in the financial services sector.
• Excellent numeracy and cash-handling skills, good organisational and administrative skills, and ability to build strong customer relationships.
• Knowledge of KYC/FICA requirements and financial compliance processes; understanding of foreign currency transactions is advantageous.
