Intern – Partnerships & Project Development (Programme Support Unit)

About the role

The Programme Support Unit (PSU) of the International Organization for Migration is looking for a motivated intern to support partnerships and project development activities. The role offers exposure to migration‑related programmes and the chance to work closely with government, intergovernmental and non‑governmental partners in Botswana.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in identifying and building new partnerships that align with IOM’s migration objectives.
• Support the design, planning and implementation of project components within the PSU.
• Conduct research and analysis on migration trends, policy frameworks and stakeholder needs.
• Prepare briefing notes, reports and presentation materials for internal and external audiences.
• Coordinate meetings, workshops and events with partners and beneficiaries.
• Help monitor project progress and contribute to documentation of results.

Required profile

• Enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s programme or graduated within the last 12 months.
• Age between 20 and 36 years.
• Less than two years of relevant work experience.
• Strong interest in migration, international development or related fields.
• Ability to work in Botswana and adapt to a multicultural environment.
