Monitoring & Evaluation Analyst – UNDP Botswana

About the role
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Botswana is seeking a Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Analyst to strengthen the country’s results‑based management system. The analyst will work closely with the Regional Bureau for Africa, country office teams, the Independent Evaluation Office and government partners to ensure high‑quality monitoring, evaluation and learning across the UN Cooperation Framework and Country Programme Document.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the design of programmes and projects, ensuring alignment with UNDP policies, CPD indicators and results frameworks.
- Produce high‑quality monitoring reports, including the Results‑Oriented Annual Report (ROAR), and coordinate integrated work planning with programme and operations teams.
- Plan, manage and oversee thematic and project evaluations, draft TORs, support consultant selection and track implementation of recommendations.
- Coordinate audit exercises, support HACT compliance, risk assessments and internal control processes.
- Participate in UN Results Groups, support MEL processes, draft TORs for UNSDCF evaluations and compile performance monitoring reports for CO projects.
- Supervise a Communications Associate and a Digital Support Associate, and liaise with the Regional Communications Advisor.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience in programme design, monitoring, evaluation and reporting within development contexts.
- Familiarity with UNDP evaluation policies, HACT compliance and audit follow‑up processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multi‑stakeholder teams, including government partners and UN agencies.
