Program Officer

About the role

The Program Officer will support the implementation of the RISE Botswana Project, ensuring that activities are planned, coordinated, monitored, and reported in line with United States Government, Department of State, and Jhpiego standards. Working closely with the Technical Director, technical teams, and implementing partners, the officer will help deliver project milestones on time and within scope.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing RISE project activities.
• Develop, consolidate, and monitor work plans, schedules, and deliverables.
• Facilitate communication among technical, finance, operations, and MEL teams.
• Organize and document project meetings, workshops, trainings, and stakeholder engagements.
• Track project progress, follow up on action items, and ensure timely completion.
• Support partner engagement, clarify reporting expectations, and monitor compliance.
• Collect, compile, and verify project data and reports.
• Prepare progress reports, presentations, success stories, and other documentation.
• Identify implementation challenges, escalate issues, and contribute to lessons‑learned documentation.
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with DOS and Jhpiego policies.

Required profile

• Strong organizational and coordination abilities.
• Experience working with international donors or development projects.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
