Veterinary Medicines Officer – Wholesale Operations

About the role

This entry‑level position supports wholesale operations for veterinary medicines, ensuring quality systems and inspection readiness. The role is based on‑site in Gaborone and offers structured on‑the‑job training for recent graduates or early‑career veterinary paraprofessionals.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with receiving, quarantine, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, returns and stock‑control activities.
• Maintain records for storage security, segregation, recalls, complaints, cleaning and training.
• Record temperatures, support cold‑chain controls and keep calibration, mapping and excursion logs.
• Verify supplier and customer information and maintain accurate purchase, sales, batch, dispatch, return and destruction records.
• Prepare premises, documents and operating systems for inspections and compliance reviews.

Required profile

• Diploma in Animal Health and Production (BUAN) or a related BUAN degree such as BSc in Animal Science, Agriculture, Range Science or Food Science and Technology.
• Current BVSC or BHPC registration with valid permission‑to‑practice documentation where applicable.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills for record‑keeping and data entry.
• Ability to perform temperature monitoring and maintain accurate documentation of cold‑chain and quality procedures.
