Resource & Reconciliation Geologist

About the role

The Resource and Reconciliation Geologist leads and coordinates grade control, resource modelling, estimation, mine-to-mill reconciliation, geological data management, validation, quality assurance and integrity of geological data. The role aligns with the organization's operational and long-term objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Complete resource geology activities, including data collection, validation and auditing for resource modelling
• Develop and implement a rolling grade control schedule based on the underground mine schedule, and update 3-D geological, structure and mineralization interpretations
• Review statistical and geostatistical calculations before grade control and resource estimation, and deliver resource models to mine planning and production on time
• Complete mine-to-mill reconciliation (monthly, quarterly and annual) and implement approved actions for variances
• Coordinate with production, resource and exploration geologists so data requirements are defined and delivered on schedule
• Mentor geological staff, document workflow changes and handovers, and drive automation of modelling and reconciliation workflows
• Ensure data collection, validation, storage and reporting comply with company standards, the JORC Code, NI 43-101 and industry best practice

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Geology or a related field
• At least 5 years of postgraduate experience, with at least 2 in a hard rock underground environment
• At least 2 years of production geology experience in base metals and/or precious metals deposits
• Planning, analytical and high-level administrative skills, with good communication skills and a commitment to safety and social responsibility

• Leapfrog, Datamine, Deswik, Vulcan and Supervisor for geostatistics, wireframes, drillhole design and resource modelling
• Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Geological sampling, QA/QC principles (standards, blanks, duplicates) and data interrogation and reporting
