Senior Accountant / Assistant Finance Manager

About the role

AVI International is expanding its iconic brands across Sub‑Saharan Africa and seeks a Senior Accountant / Assistant Finance Manager to join the team in Gaborone. You will ensure financial documentation and system information are accurate, compliant, and support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain supplier accounts, follow up on invoices, credit notes and resolve queries.
• Ensure all payments are recorded in SAP and supplier accounts are up‑to‑date.
• Prepare detailed monthly management reports on operational performance.
• Develop and maintain financial analysis tools for sales, marketing, logistics and other functions.
• Participate in annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
• Execute monthly cut‑off procedures in line with AVI Group requirements.
• Review vendor reconciliations before payment processing and address supplier issues promptly.

Required profile

• Relevant accounting or finance qualification.
• Proven experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within a multinational environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to provide proactive financial advice.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to lead and develop a team of up to ten direct reports.
