Talent Development & Performance Management Lead

About the role

The Talent Development & Performance Management Lead will drive Absa Bank Botswana's talent strategy, ensuring the right people are developed, retained, and positioned for future success. This strategic position partners with People Business Partners and senior leaders to embed best‑in‑class talent practices across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead talent reviews, talent mapping and design development interventions for top talent.
• Maintain and implement up‑to‑date end‑to‑end talent management procedures, including Workday processes.
• Partner with People partners to up‑skill managers on talent processes, career management, development and exit procedures.
• Maintain country‑wide data on top talent, critical skills and succession plans.
• Implement talent development and retention initiatives identified in talent reviews.
• Monitor People Plans, follow up on actions for critical individuals, and advise People & Culture leadership on emerging talent trends.
• Design and deliver curriculum to build core technical and leadership competencies, using cost‑effective methodologies.
• Provide advisory support for psychometric assessments, assessment centres and development centres.
• Research industry best practices, build networks, attend job fairs and collaborate with labour agencies.

Required profile

• Strategic mindset with proven experience in talent management and performance development.
• Strong partnership skills, able to influence People Business Partners and senior leaders.
• Excellent analytical ability to aggregate and interpret talent data.
• Experience advising on talent retention and succession planning.
• Ability to design and deliver learning programmes that consider cultural and technological factors.
