About the role
The Communications Coordinator will be based in Gaborone, Botswana, reporting to the Head of Communications for the “Ecosystem‑Based Adaptation and Mitigation in Botswana’s Communal Rangelands” project. The role supports the implementation of the project’s communications strategy, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement, community mobilisation, project visibility and documentation of impacts.
Key responsibilities
- Support execution of the project communications strategy and annual workplans.
- Coordinate development of communication materials aligned with project outputs and donor requirements.
- Integrate technical project information into reports and communication products.
- Build relationships with local and regional media; plan and coordinate media events, press releases and public announcements.
- Promote project visibility around job creation, climate resilience and sustainable livestock practices.
- Implement community outreach campaigns in collaboration with partners and agencies.
- Assist behaviour‑change and community mobilisation efforts on climate change, gender inclusion and sustainable rangeland management.
- Coordinate community engagement activities such as roadshows and stakeholder sensitisation events.
- Develop high‑quality communication materials and storytelling content.
