Audit Semi-Senior

About the role

EY is recruiting Audit professionals at Semi-Senior level to join its Audit team in Botswana. The position is offered on a flexible full-time basis, supporting clients in meeting their reporting requirements through accurate financial statement reporting and insight into accounting and reporting matters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead fieldwork, coach and mentor junior team members and keep engagement leaders updated on audit engagements
• Manage audit processes with due regard for audit risk and accounting technical matters, including revenue, financial instruments and income taxes
• Engage clients, give advice and identify areas for improvement in their business processes
• Keep up with market trends and share knowledge with junior colleagues
• Understand clients' ambitions and refer them to colleagues in other teams to broaden business relationships

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, BICA/ACCA qualified, or registered member of BICA
• 2-3 years of experience as an External Auditor in a public accounting firm
• Proven experience delivering external audit and assurance engagements, including planning, execution and reporting
• Proven track record of developing and maintaining client relationships
• Strong academic record (preferred)

• Accounting frameworks (IFRS) and financial reporting matters (preferred)
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, collaborative approach to management
• Excellent project management skills
