Accountant – Reporting Specialist

About the role

The Accountant – Reporting Specialist will report to the Finance Manager and oversee administrative and accounting activities to ensure smooth operational execution and high‑quality service delivery to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise payments to creditors and service providers in line with accounting standards.
• Prepare annual financial statements compliant with IFRS and monthly management accounts.
• Compile quarterly reporting packs, portfolio analysis reports and IFRS 17 reporting packs.
• Draft EXCO and Board packs for Finance Manager review.
• Assist with operational and capital budgets, monthly forecasts and cash‑flow schedules.
• Ensure timely PAYE, withholding tax, income tax computations and regulatory returns (e.g., NBFIRA).
• Reconcile intercompany accounts, staff pension/provident fund statements and fixed‑asset register.
• Act as audit liaison for internal and external auditors and clear audit findings.

Required profile

• ACCA, BICA, CIMA, or an accounting degree (or equivalent).
• 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in insurance or financial services is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software (intermediate level).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and IFRS 17 reporting standards.
• Experience preparing tax returns and regulatory filings.
