About the role
The Managing Director will assume full profit‑and‑loss responsibility and steer the strategic, operational and commercial direction of the business in Botswana and the wider region. Reporting directly to the Board, the role focuses on delivering sustainable growth, strong governance and long‑term value for all stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Define and execute the company’s strategic vision aligned with market opportunities.
- Drive revenue growth, profitability and operational efficiency.
- Lead and develop a high‑performing executive and management team.
- Strengthen governance, risk management and compliance frameworks.
- Represent the business with key stakeholders, partners, regulators and clients.
- Oversee all commercial, operational and financial activities, ensuring robust financial controls, reporting and forecasting.
- Identify and capitalise on new market and growth opportunities.
- Build trusted relationships with the Board and external stakeholders.
- Drive organisational capability, succession planning and leadership development.
Required profile
- 10+ years of senior‑level experience with full P&L responsibility.
- Proven success in leading profitable businesses, preferably in African or emerging markets.
- Strong strategic, commercial and financial acumen.
- Outstanding leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Reputation for integrity, resilience and results delivery.
