Chief Financial Officer

About the role

We are seeking an inaugural Chief Financial Officer to lead the finance function of a well‑established retail and service contracting business in Botswana. The CFO will be a key member of the senior management team, providing accurate and insightful financial information to support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance function and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting to management and the Board.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and monitor financial performance against approved plans.
• Manage cash flow, debtors, creditors and working capital to meet liquidity requirements.
• Maintain effective financial controls and ensure compliance with tax and statutory obligations.
• Provide commercial finance analysis to support contracts, pricing, margins and key business decisions.
• Manage banking relationships, funding requirements and optimal use of financial resources.
• Contribute financial insight to strategic initiatives, investments and growth opportunities.
• Lead and develop the finance team while strengthening systems, processes and management information.

Required profile

• Recognised professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• At least eight years of finance experience, including senior financial management or leadership roles.
• Experience in contracting, engineering, construction, mining, project or similar commercial environments is advantageous.
