Radio Access Network (RAN) Solution Manager

About the role

The Radio Access Network (RAN) Solution Manager will lead commercial strategy, technical pre‑sales engagement and solution design for Huawei’s mobile access portfolio in Botswana. Based in Gaborone, you will act as the primary technical authority for local operator accounts, turning network challenges into competitive 3GPP wireless solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate operator investment priorities, coverage challenges and spectrum assets to shape wireless solution strategies.
• Partner with client engineering and executive teams to capture detailed technical requirements and define network evolution roadmaps.
• Lead end‑to‑end tender submissions, including RFx interpretation, solution architecture design, commercial pricing and internal risk reviews.
• Oversee local RAN product lifecycles, identifying optimisation opportunities and performance risks.
• Bridge client technical requirements with internal engineering, R&D and deployment teams to ensure seamless delivery.
• Produce data‑driven network planning models and spectrum management insights for dense urban and rural scenarios.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in wireless pre‑sales engineering, technical marketing or mobile network solutions, with at least 3 years focused on RAN.
• Proven track record leading commercial bids, solution pricing and RFP responses for mobile network operators.
• Experience working effectively in cross‑cultural and regional telecommunications environments.
• Eligibility to work in Botswana (citizen or permanent resident).

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of 3GPP protocols (LTE, 5G NR).
• Understanding of base‑station architecture and advanced features such as Massive MIMO, Beamforming and Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS).
• Network planning and spectrum management expertise.
