Wireless Product Manager

About the role

Huawei is seeking an experienced Wireless Product Manager for its Southern Africa Network Solution Sales department in Botswana. The role acts as the strategic link between local operator requirements and end‑to‑end RAN solution delivery for 4G LTE and 5G NR deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze local telecom operators’ RAN construction strategies, technology evolution, spectrum allocation and core network investment challenges.
• Collaborate with operator clients to refine technical requirements, business scenarios and network construction standards for dense urban, wide‑coverage and indoor environments.
• Lead bid preparation for operator tenders, including requirement interpretation, solution drafting, RAN selection, spectrum evolution strategies and solution pricing.
• Track and manage technical clarification requests from client engineering teams to ensure prompt resolution of RAN‑related issues.
• Coordinate cross‑functional reviews across R&D, commercial pricing and delivery teams to ensure high‑quality, compliant tender submissions.
• Manage product lifecycle strategies for existing and next‑generation RAN products, monitoring market risks and competitive moves.
• Translate market demand into actionable product features by working closely with internal R&D and delivery units.
• Develop network planning, spectrum evolution and market insight reports tailored to the Botswana telecommunications landscape.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in RAN solutions, technical marketing or advanced pre‑sales engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of direct focus on RAN domain covering 3GPP standards, LTE, 5G NR architecture, Massive MIMO, Beamforming, Carrier Aggregation and DSS.
• Proven track record supporting Tier 1 or Tier 2 telecom operators in presales, network design or solution sales.
• Strong background in commercial bidding, BOQ generation, configuration pricing and RFP response management.
• Experience working effectively within cross‑cultural and cross‑regional engineering teams.
