Camp Management Officer

About the role

The Camp Management Officer will coordinate accommodation and camp operations for Chinese employees, providing language support, fostering cultural integration, and ensuring high‑quality camp services. This role acts as the primary liaison between residents, facilities teams, contractors, and senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accommodation operations for camps with a large Chinese workforce.
• Serve as the main communication link between Chinese residents, the Facilities Department, contractors, and MMG management.
• Translate verbal and written communications between English and Mandarin Chinese as needed.
• Assist Chinese employees with reporting maintenance defects, accommodation concerns, transport requests, and other camp‑related issues.
• Monitor housekeeping, catering, laundry, grounds maintenance, and accommodation services to ensure compliance with service standards.
• Conduct routine camp inspections, raise corrective actions, and follow up on deficiencies.
• Support room allocations, check‑in/check‑out processes, and occupancy management.
• Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new Chinese employees on camp rules, facilities, and emergency procedures.
• Promote cultural exchange activities and guide contractors on cultural expectations.
• Maintain accurate accommodation records, occupancy reports, and camp statistics.
• Submit regular operational reports to the Facilities Manager and support emergency response communications.

Required profile

• Certificate in Hospitality Management, Facilities Management, Business Administration, translation or a related field.
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (mandatory).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in camp management, hospitality, accommodation management, or facilities operations.
• Experience working with Chinese nationals or in a multicultural environment.
• Previous mining or industrial camp experience is an advantage.
• Experience in translation or interpretation is highly desirable.
