Senior Sales Executive - Hotels

About the role

City Lodge Hotels is looking for a Senior Sales Executive for its Town Lodge in Gaborone, Botswana. The role focuses on turning every guest into a returning and referring guest, increasing sales revenue across the hotel's managed account portfolio and supporting the hotel with its target market segments. It also involves identifying acquisition targets, building client relationships, analysing sales data and helping develop hotel sales plans.

Key responsibilities

• Discover and pursue new sales leads and opportunities within existing managed accounts.
• Administer and maintain the managed account's travel business.
• Learn the group's products, services, pricing, booking systems and tools, and stay up to date with changes.
• Study competitor products and pricing to help differentiate the group.
• Maintain accurate sales records in the CRM for reporting.
• Promote two-way communication with clients, hotels and support teams, and build good working relationships with hotel staff.
• Keep brand and group standards consistent and suggest improvements to products and service delivery.
• Develop personal growth plans through training and development activities.

Required profile

• At least Grade 12; computer literacy is essential, especially with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Minimum of three years' experience in on-the-road sales (reactive and proactive), including hotel operations, market-segmentation planning and the RFP/RFI process.
• Advantageous: certified sales professional, multiple property sales or on-property reservation experience, and domestic, regional and international sales exposure.
• Valid driver's licence; own vehicle always available; occasional travel for sales trips.
• Subject to a fraud and credit check because the role handles money and authorises deposits.
