Vehicle Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Technician is responsible for delivering high‑quality repairs and maintenance on heavy‑duty vehicles, ensuring safety, on‑time delivery and customer satisfaction. The role combines technical expertise with a commercial mindset to support Scania’s profitability and road safety.

Key responsibilities

• Secure the correct information, tools and spare parts before any maintenance or repair event.
• Perform maintenance or repair tasks using established methods, standards and safety procedures, completing work on schedule.
• Minimise invoicing lead time after the job by providing clear work descriptions and communicating any hand‑over requirements.

Required profile

• Matric certificate, N3 or equivalent.
• Qualified Diesel Technician with a Trade Test Certificate.
• Minimum three years of workshop experience repairing and maintaining heavy vehicles.
• Current residence in Botswana and at least one year in the present role.
• Demonstrated competencies in repair and maintenance, safety, use of information technology, customer focus, teamwork, integrity and compliance.
