Procurement & Contracts Manager – Renewable Energy Project

About the role

The company is a leading international renewable energy developer seeking a Procurement & Contracts Manager to support a large‑scale utility‑scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Botswana. You will be responsible for shaping procurement strategy, overseeing tendering, managing supplier and contractor relationships, and ensuring commercial governance throughout development and construction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project schedules and budgets.
• Lead end‑to‑end tendering processes, including RFQs, RFPs, bid evaluations and supplier selection.
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing structures and supplier agreements.
• Draft, review, negotiate and administer contracts, purchase orders and commercial agreements.
• Monitor contractor performance, manage variations, claims and change orders.
• Support project budgeting, cost forecasting and procurement planning.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and conduct financial analysis for supplier selection.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, contractors, consultants and project stakeholders.

Required profile

• Significant experience in renewable energy, power, infrastructure, mining, EPC or large‑scale development projects.
• Proven track record in procurement strategy development and contract administration.
• Strong ability to manage commercial risk, cost control and contractual compliance.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
